Bungie + iPhones = ?
AllAboutiPhone’s Matt Radford writes: "This little tidbit came to me along the grapevine. I have it on very good authority that Bungie is handing out free iPhones to all its employees. Why would the company behind Halo be giving them away to their staff?
"I’ll bet there are all sorts of excellent freebies to be had working for Bungie. However, I’m sure that this move is more than just generosity on the part of the company, and that they are going to develop titles for the iPhone."
Games Are Indie with Gerbil Physics

Touted by developer Pencel Games as “the most fun you can have with gerbils whilst still being legal,” Gerbil Physics is here. What’s not to like about a game with that as the tagline? This hidden gem is a whopping 80 MSFT points, making it a dollar. Plus, you get to use all sorts of equipment, including bombs, ropes, and the “Iron Gerbils” to destroy buildings made of gerbils across 24 levels and make style points along the way.
Pencel Games are a London-based team comprised of three independent game developers focused on making unique and compelling games. We like that. Go see them at www.pencelgames.com.

Forza 3 sales numbers interesting
Even before Forza 3 was released, it was expected to sell well. The tour de force sequel simply had more of everything that made the first game good, as well as Turn 10’s hard work to create something that was far beyond what had ever been seen from a racing game on the Xbox 360. In reviews of Forza 3, the game has been scoring at the highest levels and has been winning all sorts of awards.
Rumor Watch: 360 to get blu-ray?
In the latest format war, Sony won out. Blu-ray trumped HD-DVD – for all sorts of potential reasons that we won’t go into right now. Since then, rumors of blu-ray features on the Xbox 360 have never quite gone away. And today, blindsiding just about everyone in the business, a video emerged over on Gizmodo which showed Steve Ballmer, Microsoft CEO, seemingly confirming blu-ray on the 360.

Saying that blu-ray would appear at some point as an accessory (but not in the 360) was rather surprising. Head over to Gizmodo to see the full story, if you wish. We’ll be sure to bring you any further developments on this latest twist in the HD format saga.
New Cryptic Gran Turismo 5 Details; GT Mobile Coming This Fall
A forum thread on the GT Planet forums from user amar212 — known for frequently being spot-on with Gran Turismo news — has been posted with all sorts of hints of what we can only assume are Gran Turismo 5 details. From what we can at least try to extrapolate from the post about winds and birdtamers is that GT5 will have more than 600 vehicles, “almost” 96 tracks, support for user-created tracks, online racing with more players than ever before (16 was the maximum in Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, pictured above), and voice chat.
In addition to that, there are some discreet mentions of Gran Turismo Mobile, the PlayStation Portable version of GT. There has been speculation that the game was canned. After all, it’s been almost five years since the game was first announced — right along with the PSP itself. And although last November, Gran Turismo mastermind Kazunori Yamauchi promised that the project was still “moving ahead,” we’ve seen very little — if any — indication that the game is still in development.
But we have it on good accord from sources inside Sony that not only is GT Mobile still alive, but that it’s coming this fall and will be shown at this year’s E3 in June. Sony has said that much of its 2009 lineup for PSP remains unannounced, including some “big titles,” and GT Mobile certainly qualifies as a big title. Maybe this really will be the “best software year” ever for the PSP.
Faulty Tech…Now Acceptable?
Badassgamer writes "Microsoft launched the Xbox 360 back in 2005, it was the only HD console on the market, looked great, played all sorts of media, and was an all round great product, except for one thing, it had such a high failure rate."
IGN: Silent Hill: Shattered Memories Eyes-on
Matt Casamassina: "All sorts of thoughts are racing through my head as I sit in a demo room at Konami’s Manhattan Beach, California office is mid-March while waiting for company representatives to boot up the Wii action-horror game Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. I think, this title came out of nowhere — a real surprise."
