Darwinians for XBLA Screens & Trailer
A strategic combat game from gamesmaker Introversion for the Microsoft XBLA platform, Darwinia+ asks you to lead the Darwinians into battle to recapture their lost world! Once you’ve proven your command ability, take your Darwinian army online and challenge your friends to strategic combat, as tribes of Darwinians slaughter one another in a desperate struggle for supremacy. And who doesn’t love hordes of slaughtering tribes? Says the developer,
It’s been a long battle with Microsoft and their particularly high standards; in the end we are really thankful for their advice and help in completing this long and challenging game project. We have come to think of Darwinia+ as the Director’s Cut as it has surpassed our expectations of what we were originally looking to create and now looks and feels smoother than ever. As Darwinia+ is our first adventure onto a games console this also marks an extra special celebration for Introversion.

Emberwind – ZTGD Review
Cat writes: Emberwind is a charming fantasy platformer from indie developer TimeTrap. You play as gnome watchman Kindle and are accompanied by your snowy owl Hedwig. I mean Wick. King Gyro rules over typically safe streets, but now an evil army has hit town. Bummer. A Fire Gnome, Kindle has the duty of lighting the lamps of Grendale and thus delivering it from the invading gremlins and the evil CandleFinger while Wick provides taxi service. Other than that, Emberwind is light on lore and heavy on combat. Of course, how many of us really cared about why we were rescuing Peach, or how the gal got herself into such a predicament anyway? We were in it for the mushroom devouring, Koopa stomping glory, and Emberwind largely forgoes the pretense.
Fanboys Make The World Go Round
DualShockers Write:
"Recently an editorial on Destructiod written by Jim Sterling raised eyebrows, alarms, and anger levels in the minds of the Sony fanboy army. It was entitled "Fact: PS3 Fanboys are the worst" and was based on the very argument it states in the title. To sum up or paraphase what was said is basically that out of all of the fanboys of the 3 console manufacturers, Sony’s followers are at the very bottom of the bunch, probably one level up from shit. My favorite line was "perhaps they just have tiny penises" (his words, not mine)…"
Review: Guitar Hero 5 | GamesAreEvil.com
GrE writes, "When I first bought the Guitar Peripheral and Guitar Hero 2 for the Xbox 360, I noted the price point, and thought to myself "I hope this ends up being worth the 90 bucks."2 years and 7 Guitar hero titles later, I have amassed a small instrumental army: 3 guitars, 1 drumset, and a microphone. In much the same way as I pondered about the value of my first plastic instrument back then, I mentally touched upon the fact that I would never be able to make use of all 3 guitars. Then Guitar Hero 5 came to my rescue. With the latest enumerated installment of the legendary franchise, I took quite some time to get acquainted with it’s many new features and what I found blew my mind…"
The Boycott of Shadow Complex
Popmatters writes:
"A look at the controversy surrounding Shadow Complex and Orson Scott Card.
When Shadow Complex came out last week, it was met with an unusual controversy, which Christian Nutt explored in an article on Gamasutra. The controversy centered around some gamers’ decision to boycott Shadow Complex because of its connection to Orson Scott Card, an outspoken opponent of gay rights. Card wrote Empire, a novel about a leftist army taking over the capital, and Shadow Complex is a prequel to that story."
