World of Warcraft patch 3.3.3 Goes Live

Blizzard Entertainment deployed patch 3.3.3 today into live World of Warcraft servers adding several class balance and bug fixes, improvements to the Auction House, dungeons and user interface.

The Random Battleground System, similar to the Dungeon LFG system has gone live with rewards per battleground completed through this new system.

StarCraft II: Beta – Invite a Friend

A number of people already participating in the beta have received an additional beta key which allows them to invite a friend.

Short quote of the e-mail:

"Congratulations! This is an additional invitation to the beta test for Blizzard Entertainment’s StarCraft® II: Wings of Liberty for you to share with a friend! You are receiving this email because you are currently participating in the StarCraft II beta test, and we want to encourage you to test out some of the social features of the revamped Battle.net® online-gaming service by inviting one of your friends to play with you."

NVIDIA 196.75 Drivers Kill StarCraft 2

Many reports revealed the latest NVIDIA 196.75 graphic drivers have caused computers and graphic cards to die while playing StarCraft II Beta. A Blizzard Entertainment tech support representative has confirmed these drivers are causing the fans control to not work properly thus causing graphic cards and PC computers to overheat.

The recommendation is to uninstall the latest NVIDIA drivers released a few days ago, and to downgrade to the previous drivers until a new driver fix is deployed.

Starcraft II Beta Terran Voiceover Compilation Videos

Starcraftwire compiled all the Terran units’ voiceovers full of jokes and pop culture references added into the mix by Blizzard Entertainment developers.

The original Starcraft game was popular for all these funny sentences spoken by the voiceover actors when players click a unit multiple times to trigger the voice sequences which are otherwise locked.

WoW: The Burning Crusade gets permission for release in China

The General Adminstration of Press and Publication (Gapp) has allowed NetEase, Blizzard Entertainment’s Chinese partner, to release The Burning Crusade, the first expansion of World of Warcraft, in China.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade already launched in the U.S. back in 2007. The approval for release of The Burning Crusade in China can be called a victory for Blizzard Entertainment.

Blizzard announces new Plush Pets

Blizzard Entertainment announced the introduction of two new World of Warcraft plush pets: the Wind Rider Cub and the Gryphon. These will be available on the Blizzard Store very soon.

Included with the sale of the plush pet is a code to redeem an exact copy of your pet in-game.

Mobile Armory promo video & Blizzard’s World of Warcraft iPhone app controversy

Blizzard entertainment is has released all sorts of premium features for their acclaimed MMORPG World of Warcraft in the past; pets, name and race changes, faction changes, etc. All of these, however, have been purely cosmetic additions that don’t impact gameplay or offer players any real advantage over players who opt not to buy into them.

That is, until the recent announcement by Blizzard Poster Bornakk on the World of Warcraft forums, unveiling Blizzards plans for an expansion of the Armory website and Mobile Armory iPhone app (see the trailer above) to include access to the in-game Auction Houses, for a premium fee.
