Rumor: Why Call of Duty Developers Are Sticking Around

With studio heads at Infinity Ward, the developer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and its sequel, no longer employed, you’d think all those remaining at the company would be leaving in mass exodus. They’re not, apparently, and here’s why.

Sources tell Kotaku that Modern Warfare publisher Activision is delaying paying Infinity Ward employees their royalties. Every employee who worked on Modern Warfare 2 is apparently in for royalties. Traditionally, Infinity Ward has paid staff regular or even "low" salaries, sources tell Kotaku, but offer ridiculous royalties to compensate.

Uncharted 2 wins AIAS ‘Game of the Year’

Examiner: Once again, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has won a prestigious ‘Game of the Year’ award. This time, though, they won it from AIAS (Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences). With the award ceremony taking place earlier this evening, Naughty Dog and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was able to beat several of the top games from 2009 and claim the ‘Game of the Year’ title.

Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was able to beat Assassin’s Creed II, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Dragon Age: Origins.

Winners of the 13th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards announced; best games of 2009 recognized

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) held the 13th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards (IAA) show on February 18, 2010. The 13th Annual IAA recognizes the best games of 2009, as well as lifetime industry pioneers.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves swept many awards including Game of the Year. Brutal Legend was distinguished for its strategy gameplay elements and Soundtrack. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was recognized for its online play and action. Scribblenauts swept the portable game awards categories, as well as Outstanding Innovation in Gaming. Batman: Arkham Asylum received a fair share of awards as well, including Outstanding Achievement in Game Design.

Why do most of the gamingcommunities suck?

The German gaming-website pcaction.de published an article about unsocial gaming-communities. For the most players the Germans are always the nazi-gamers or the french are noobs. The article shows up three games (Left 4 Dead 2, Heroes of Newerth and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2) as examples for anti-social-communities.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 sells 12M copies, but company Activision Blizzard makes no profit

Daily News writes: "Although the new Call of Duty has sold more than 12 million copies, the company’s losses grew to $286 million in the last three months of 2009 because of accounting changes and a hefty reduction of the value of its music games – like the popular Guitar Hero – and other titles for Nintendo’s Wii console."

Modern Warfare patch 1.08 causes lots of problems

Today patch 1.08 has been released for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This patch had to fix annoying issues like that you can run insane fast while holding a care package marker. The Akimbo Model 1887’s are again balanced cause they are still overpowered.

It seems that patch 1.08 causes lots of problems for the PlayStation 3. Many people can’t play normally online because there PlayStation 3 totally freezes after downloading the patch.
