GT Planet writes: "Here’s some quite literal "screen shots" of the Gran Turismo 5 demo at the European Motor Show 2010 in Brussels, taken by our own Vince_Fiero. He’s taken the novel approach of focusing on in-car game play shots, providing us with a look inside cars we have not yet seen."

Gran Turismo 5 Shipping with Multiple Discs?

Posted by admin On October - 20 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

Gran Turismo 5

The folks over at Gran Turismo fansite GTPlanet happened upon an intriguing bit of info this morning: At least one version of Gran Turismo 5 may be shipping with up to three discs.

Kazunori Yamauchi appeared in a recent Mercedes-Benz promotional video, where an observant tipster noticed the Gran Turismo creator fiddling with the box that’s pictured above. No, that’s not a Lost DVD box set in Kazunori’s hands — it’s the packaging for Gran Turismo 5, which, curiously, features three separate blu-ray cases inside a larger sleeve.

It’s entirely possible that this is simply a premium, collector’s edition bundle with bonus videos and other added content. Then again, Gran Turismo 5 sounds like it’ll be one of the most utterly massive racing games to date — including 1,000 cars with fully-modeled cockpit views, 60 tracks, and a totally revamped physics model. Forza 3 will be shipping on multiple DVDs next week; could Polyphony Digital’s driving simulator be one of the first PlayStation 3 games to vastly exceed the storage limits of blu-ray?

VGChartz Reviews Gran Turismo PSP

Posted by admin On October - 9 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

"Does 800 cars + 60 tracks = 4 years of waiting? If only.

I remember the day I originally purchased my PSP. I was beyond excited with the thought that the authentic PlayStation experience would be accessible from my pocket. No game better encapsulates that PlayStation experience than Gran Turismo, which I was sure would be my first purchase, but then I discovered the shocking truth. Gran Turismo was not available at launch as promised and the wait would be over four years long. However, that is all in the past and the meticulous developers at Polyphony Digital have finally delivered the game, but it may not be the exact racing game PSP owners have been eagerly pining for all this time."
