GT: Can you remember? I sure can, articles about the PS3’s doom and gloom were circulating carelessly across the web. ‘PS3 is dead’ some would say, betting on the demise of Sony’s flagship console. But where are they now? No place to be found, palely they hide behind the scenes or have made a 180 and suddenly singing PS3 praises. lessoned learned? Never bet against the PlayStation brand.

Left 4 Dead 2, Modern Warfare 2, Assassin’s Creed 2, and Uncharted 2 made 2009 a year of epic sequels. Too bad none of the studios in this feature will be releasing any sequels, ever…at least not in their original forms. 2009, like 2008, was a rough economic year, and led to the demise of multiple influential and promising developers.

Square Enix chief Yoichi Wada is preparing his firm for the demise of physical media – and potentially the death of home consoles.

In an exclusive interview with MCV that will be published next week, the CEO of the publisher – which now owns Eidos and is famous for its epic disc-based Final Fantasy games – said that a dramatic change will come in the next decade offering more opportunity for market growth, but fundamentally transforming the traditional industry.

"In ten years’ time a lot of what we call ‘console games‘ won’t exist," he said.

Sony threw itself whole-heartedly into the world of digital-only media. It seems somehow fitting then, that the PSP Go will likely die a slow and painful death, and its demise will undoubtedly set back the digital experiment by years.

Further to the news that Fort Zombie is coming soon to the PC this autumn, Paradox Interactive have released some more details as well as two new screenshots.

Fort Zombie will offer:

• The ability to take control of a single building in town as you prepare for total zombie infestation
• The need to gather supplies and find survivors by day, while defending your building by night
• Players can engage in specific single missions within the campaign and spend time building up the ultimate fortress
• An unique character building and reward system – each day promises new missions, each with different potential rewards.
• Finally how you utilize and level up your survivors will greatly affect your chances of avoiding an ultimate zombie demise.

We don’t know about you but we think this is shaping up to be a pretty unique, cool sounding game. There may be a plethora of zombie games but with an unique twist such as the one Fort Zombie offers, this could be a very interesting game.

There’s still no definite release date yet for Fort Zombie but we at GamesAreEvil will be sure to keep you up to date as soon as we find out!
