Audi screen

In an interesting melding of marketing and the video games community, Audi have built their own space for PlayStation Home.

Form the 17th of December, lucky PlayStation 3 gamers will have the chance to enjoy an all Audi experience.

The Audi Space will feature Audi TV, an ongoing calendar of content which includes virtual lectures , product launches and more.

This isn’t all thought. Audi Space also features a mini-game that gives visitors the chance to jump behind the wheel of Audi’s new electric sports car, the e-tron which was unveiled at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

The game, called Virtual Run, is a six player driving game that will give you the chance to open up a new funky apartment if you’re good enough.

See you there.

Need for Speed Shift Review

Posted by admin On September - 21 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

For years, the Need for Speed franchise reigned as the king of driving games. Installments like Hot Pursuit 1 and 2, Underground 1 and 2, and Most Wanted helped the series become a multi-platform dynasty. Though, the grind of producing a new game each year eventually caught up with the developers — resulting in two consecutive sub-par outings in Pro Street and Undercover. EA acted decisively, by wiping the slate clean and announcing that the series would be relaunched with new games — each tailor-made for the audience of the console it will be played on. Need for Speed: Shift now has the difficult (and unenviable) position of being the first to lead the charge of returning the series to its former stature on the HD-generation platforms (360, PS3, and PC).

And here’s the kicker: It’s not even a driving game. You won’t find traffic-filled streets to weave through while evading the cops here. Shift takes a turn into serious racing game territory — territory marked by both Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport. It’s a bold direction for a series that built its reputation on being a game that anyone could pick up the controller and live out their Fast and the Furious fantasies in. But Shift doesn’t want to be a racer for the hardcore only; along with a number of options for driving assists to help control your car on the track, the game’s basic structure is designed to try and prevent you from getting stuck on any one event preventing you from advancing.

VideoGamer: Gran Turismo PSP Review

Posted by admin On September - 15 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

VideoGamer.com writes: "Make no mistake, this is Gran Turismo as you remember it but on a handheld, and done in a way that betters what I imagined was possible. It looks great, plays superbly and has an absolute ton of content to work through. It’s impossible not to feel more than a little let down by what’s missing, though. A more structured career mode would have been great, online leaderboards and ghosts simply should have been included, and the lack of online play is bitterly disappointing. Who knows what will be added to the game post release, but as it stands we’ve got the ultimate handheld driving game with a fairly bare bones feature list. Buy it, spend hours earning credits and buying cars, and try to overlook the glaring omissions without shedding a small tear."

Comparing Gran Turismo 5 Locations With Real Locations

Posted by admin On August - 26 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

Realism is a keystone of the Gran Turismo franchise. Those in-game cars are so close to the actual machines that GT is more driving simulator, less driving game. But how do the real life locations stack up?

The lighting and perspective don’t always stack up in the comparison screens, but the in-game shoots look accurate. Hey, there’s the Sony Computer Entertainment building!

Brute Forza

Posted by admin On August - 15 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

Top Gear writes: "The Gran Turismo series has something of a stranglehold on the more serious side of the driving game market. It claims to be The Real Driving Simulator, and a lot of people would agree that it’s The Daddy. But GT5’s unconfirmed and rather mysterious release date has slipped back to December, and it could end up arriving even later than that. So Forza Motorsport 3 might have a bit of a hill to climb if it wants to be The New Daddy, but it could have something of a head-start."
