At the AOU arcade show that just kicked off in Japan, Konami is showing off a brand new Metal Gear arcade game called, well, Metal Gear Arcade. Featuring 3D graphics, head tracking, and cabinets that can be networked, Metal Gear Arcade seems like it could be pretty interesting. Certainly a hell of a lot better than the Castlevania arcade game Konami put out last year. Anyway, Japanese site Gigazine posted up some videos from the show, but we’ll be back with some of our own impressions soon.

Matthew Kato: "At this year’s CES convention, Microsoft unveiled its plan to create an Xbox Live Game Room where you can go and play arcade classics. Through the years we’ve had ample opportunities to play cherished titles like Tempest – perhaps you’ve already bought some of those games via Xbox Live Arcade. Now, the 360’s Game Room is going to make you pay for them again."

YourEMGN Writes: "The game [iHooy] is an arcade smasher that involves some of the Guitar Hero gameplay mechanism (but goes further by adding sliding) and combining it with Metal Gear Solid feeling (story, me – the hero, music)."

TGS writes: "Shadow Complex isn’t perfect but it’s a fantastic game that every 360 owner should experience for its sheer brilliance. Being both a refreshing and classic side scrolling game that by Arcade standards goes beyond the call of duty."

PlayStation LifeStyle writes:

"Universal has won the rights to a game, that doesn’t seem to mesh well with the movie world. That’s mostly because that game is an old school arcade classic with no premise. So other than the nostalgia factor, what will Asteroids the movie offer?"

The-MagicBox: "Konami revealed new details of its arcade game Metal Gear Arcade, the game will have special 3D visuals which requires player to wear a pair of 3D glasses; images you see on the left and right eyes are slightly shifted to produce 3D effects. There will be a special gun type controller attached to the arcade system."

Independent games developer Espadrille Magique has announced its first shooter game, Wrath of the Poo.

The arcade style action game allows players to take the role of a special agent who must fight his way through an infested town of mutants that have escaped from the bathroom of a local secret laboratory. The various levels of the game include the laboratory, sewers, a wastewater treatment plant and the town.
