GameSpot: Mount & Blade: Warband Review

Posted by admin On April - 22 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Even if you don’t bother with the single-player campaign, Warband is worth the buy for the outstanding multiplayer alone. The combat is addictive and exciting, with a good number of people crowding onto the servers. While the core of Mount & Blade is still relatively primitive due to its underdeveloped solo campaign and a few limitations with graphics, there is a lot of charm here. The simple fun of smashing skulls with a pike and charging into a gang of enemies atop a fine Arab charger really makes this game stand out in a world of cookie-cutter RPGs.

GameSpot: GTA: Episodes from Liberty City Review

Posted by admin On April - 17 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Even if you choose to ignore the multiplayer and most of the optional activities and side missions, there’s a good 20-plus hours of fun to be had with these episodes. The stories are compelling, the memorable characters are too numerous to mention, and the gameplay is still top-notch. It’s unfortunate that PC owners have had to wait so long to get their hands on this content, and even more unfortunate that the episodes don’t perform any better on the PC than GTAIV did, but that’s certainly no reason for you not to enjoy them.

GameSpot: Just Cause 2 PC Review

Posted by admin On March - 26 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

GameSpot writes,

"There’s a lot to do, a lot of sights to take in, and a lot of secrets to uncover if you look hard enough–and the game is so much fun that you’ll have a blast doing it. After all, you can grapple to a gas canister, shoot it, and fly into the air like a rocket. And if that sounds like fun to you, it’s time for a vacation to the island paradise of Panau. "

GameSpot: Metro 2033 Review

Posted by admin On March - 18 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Metro 2033 is a well-paced shooter that will likely take you more than 10 hours to complete. It is punctuated by emotional and dramatic moments (a surprising encounter with a child, a few intense railcar sequences), though these aren’t without their own idiosyncrasies (the immersion-busting "quickly tap x" prompt). Many elements of Metro 2033 aren’t quite up to modern shooter standards, but taken as a whole, they come together nicely.

The pervasive atmosphere is largely responsible for this cohesion, creating a grim, enthralling world that you feel compelled to explore. Though it is not without its perils, Metro 2033 is a very worthwhile game for anyone craving a uniquely rewarding journey into man’s dark future.

GameSpot: Heavy Rain Review

Posted by admin On February - 20 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Though it suffers from its share of plot and technical problems, Heavy Rain is nonetheless a bold and visionary step forward in the medium of interactive storytelling. Part adventure game and part psychological thriller, Heavy Rain is far from the quick-time-event-powered movie that it may appear to be at first glance. Every action you perform or decision you make–from the simple and mundane to the dark and disturbing–brings you closer to the flawed but realistic characters you manipulate.

Their stories become your story, and their hardships become obstacles that you feel compelled to overcome with them. No matter how your adventure plays out, Heavy Rain is a profoundly personal experience that should not be missed.

GameSpot: SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 Review

Posted by admin On February - 13 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Unfortunately, the online multiplayer is about the only part of Fireteam Bravo 3 that can be called entertaining. The game is thoroughly competent, but there is little to capture your interest. The mission structures lack creativity, and the bland story casts a pall of boredom over the whole campaign. Fireteam Bravo is technically sound, but without any tactical tension or invigorating spark, the game feels lifeless and hollow.

Final Fantasy XIII 360 has Crisper In-game Image, while Ps3 has better Cinematics.

Posted by admin On February - 12 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

So in the newest preview in London for Final Fantasy XIII the 360 version was finally playable and Gamespot has their preview in with a pretty startling surprise.

"However, we noticed at this stage that the movies on the Xbox 360 suffered from more compression than on the PlayStation 3, while the Xbox 360 had an overall crisper image quality in the main game. "
