Horror Racing iPhone Review | The Portable Gamer

Posted by admin On October - 7 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

TPG writes: "Horror Racing is an isometric-view car combat racer – if you’ve played Rock ‘n Roll Racing back on the SNES or Genesis, then this may be familiar to you. You race around the maps, as one is wont to do in a racing game, but you also have weapons. Sweet, sweet armaments. You pick them up as your race around, to try and impede the progress of your opponents by blowing them to kingdom come."

Thoughts on the Newly Announced Sonic Game (resumeplay)

Posted by admin On September - 10 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

ResumePlay’s Michael Perry writes: "I personally have lost all joy that I once had for this Sega mascot due to all the next gen crap out that didn’t retain what made Sonic games fun. The Sonic games on Genesis were great and the only ones that even got close to these were the Sonic Advance games for the GBA; that’s it. For some odd reason, Sega kept pushing Sonic into the 3D realm and with that they lost a lot of their sonic fans. After several failed attempts, Sega has decided to bring Sonic back to the 2D level in an all new game built from the ground up… so there you go fans."

PSX Extreme Editorial: My Xbox 360 Is Gathering Dust…Help

Posted by admin On July - 12 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

PSX Extreme writes: "As a gamer with a certain amount of free time at his disposal, I typically try to have a couple consoles for each generation. I had the SNES and Genesis, the PS1 and Dreamcast (although the PS1 quickly took precedence), the PS2 and Xbox, and now, the PS3 and Xbox 360. I got the 360 during the summer of 2006 – several months before the PS3 launched – and a year later, I believe I had six 360 games and four PS3 games. Now obviously, I don’t buy things arbitrarily."

In addition to music and music videos, Jackson was also known as a fan of videogames. His Neverland Ranch had many arcade cabinets on free play. But Jackson did not just want to play games, he wanted to be in them, too. And so in 1990, Jackson teamed up with one of his favorite game companies, SEGA, to create the game Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker for the arcade, Genesis, and Master System, as well as current personal computers at the time.

Koku Gamer: ClayFighter Video Review

Posted by admin On June - 25 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

Koku Gamer writes: "When it first debuted in 1993, it may have been a visual standout from the numerous other "Street Fighter 2?clones of the time but by today’s standards it barely even passes. My first major problem with this Virtual Console release is the fact that we got the inferior Genesis version which came out a full year later than the superior SNES version we should have got. Though the SNES version wasn’t void of flaws itself, it was light years better than this one. If you scroll down to the video and listen to the awesome theme song that got cut from this version, you’ll understand my frustration."

The PlayStation Killer

Posted by admin On March - 31 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

An article just posted yesterday on the Telegraph puts it as plain as you can get it;

A father stabbed his partner to death after she threw him out of their bedroom so she could spend the nights playing on a Sony PlayStation Console.

playstation-killerMalcom Palmer, 62, turned on the mother of his three children after she became hooked on Grand Theft Auto. While she was busy getting her game on, he was forced to sleep on the sofa in their living room. Carol Cannom, 46, stayed up all night gaming away (typical of gamers) after her son, 10, was done playing for the evening. Her son would typically play until midnight, and then Ms. Cannom would take the controller from that point on.

“Carol quickly became hooked. He was very unhappy about the amount of time she was playing on the PlayStation,” Said John Pini QC for the prosecution.

The court also heard how Palmer had become convinced that Carol was having an affair, and went on a violent rampage when she told him she wanted him to move out last year. She even went as far as threatened that he would never get to see his children again.

That very evening, Palmer attacked Carol with two knives, inflicting 20 seperate wounds to her upper chest. The murder was overheard by their son James, who called the police. Palmer picked the phone up from his son and simply said, “I’m sorry. I think I’ve killed her.”

Palmer’s defence lawyer Timothy Spencer QC told the court: “The genesis of this tragedy bizarrely lies with the purchase of the PlayStation.” Palmer admitted to the murder and will be sentenced this Wednesday.
