StarcraftWire.net has a review of the latest TOKYOPOP manga based on the award-winning RTS Game Starcraft. The first story in this manga, titled Homecoming, serves as a backstory on the main character marshal-turned-rebel Jim Raynor.

The story ties-in straight into the first mission in Mar Sara at the beginning of Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty’s single player. The story written by no other than Blizzard Entertainment’s Senior VP of Creative Design Chris Metzen left a cliffhanger that might be exploited and come back to bite fans in the game. Mystery ensues. Did Jim Raynor’s son truly die?

So, What’s the Scariest Game This Gen so Far?

Posted by admin On August - 5 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

Go! Gaming Giant: ‘There hasn’t really been that many horror games so far this generation, and there have been even less really scary ones. Games such as Siren: Blood Curse, Alone in the Dark – Inferno and Jericho were disappointing and Silent Hill: Homecoming continued the series’ habit of being mediocre since the first few games, and it’s left us with few horror games to make us wet ourselves. And we love wetting ourselves. Well, you know what I mean.

The few games we’re left with are Resident Evil 5, Condemned 2: Bloodshot, FEAR 2, Left 4 Dead and Dead Space. Did I miss anything? There’s nothing that immediately springs to mind, so there can’t be anything left (that’s how these things work, right?).’

Character Chronicles: Pyramid Head

Posted by admin On April - 23 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

Gamer Limit writes "Judge, jury and goddamn executioner of the Silent Hill series, Pyramid Head is one of the scariest guys in gaming; he’s not a man/thing/Egyptian monument you wanna mess with. P.Head has other names though; The Red Triangle Thing, Pyramid Head, and in Silent Hill: Homecoming the "Bogeyman". Although none of these names sound particularly threatening, after you read this article you will forever fear the triangle and all its forms."

UPDATE: Necrovision banned in Australia

Posted by admin On April - 16 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

When it comes to banning games, 2009 has been a fairly quiet one down under. Although last year saw games such as Shellshock 2: Blood Trails, Silent Hill: Homecoming, Dark Sector, F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin, and Fallout 3 refused classification (with several of those eventually making it back into the country after appeals and content changes), 2009 has seen no game raise the ire of the Classification Board. That is, until this week featured confirmation that upcoming PC first-person shooter Necrovision has been effectively banned.
