TVG writes: When Alan Wake launches on May 21st (hopefully), it’ll be nearly five years since it was first announced at E3 2005. One thing we hadn’t previously noticed over this time, though, is quite how much Alan’s image has changed during the game’s tumultuous development cycle.
Capcom: This image popped up on the Japanese Xbox site yesterday. We can’t tell you about all the delicious secrets that will be unveiled at this event, but we can hint that some of the news will be of interest to a global gamer audience. We’ll have a lot more information for you first thing in the morning on Tuesday, January 26.
The supersuit-enhanced cat has officially leaped out of the bag, folks — Crysis 2 will be set in New York City. According to a "World Exclusive" Twitter image of the next PlayStation: The Official Magazine’s cover (partially seen above), the upcoming sequel plans to give players a chance to blast off the faces of "aliens invading NYC," employing the already teased "Nanosuit 2.0."
As the Crysis 2 cover is set for the March issue of PTOM, we expect to start hearing more details on the sequel over the next few weeks as subscribers start getting their copies (and subsequently begin filling the internet with said details).
InCrysis: "PC Gamer tweets that the first Crysis 2 preview is just around the corner. The preview will be published on the February 2010 issue of PC Gamer Magazine and it comes equipped with the first two screens from the game. The cover image shows an illustration of Nanosuit 2 in action and states that Crysis 2 will go into a mind-blowing new direction. Check out the cover image below. According to Maximum PC the issue will be available for purchase starting next week."
EA and Bioware have confirmed the final contents of the Mass Effect 2 special edition and what they look like in a nice looking image.
The Mass Effect 2 Collectors’ Edition is to include a 48 page full-color concept art booklet, a collectable tin box and a Mass Effect Redeption comic to run your hands across in real life, while in-game Commander Shepard will get his hands on Limited Edition Armor and access to the Cerberus Network, which’ll provide more exclusive in-game content.
We’re getting our first look at Puzzle Quest 2, thanks to a teaser from GamePro. The January issue of GamePro magazine is set to give more details on the sequel, and for now we’ve been given a high-res screenshot (above) that shows a battle sequence. It seems to carry a lot in common with the original Puzzle Quest, with the addition of a new glove icon. No platforms have been announced yet, but given the sharp screenshot it’s a safe bet that it will be on PC, Xbox 360, and/or PlayStation 3. The previous installment had lower-res versions for PSP and DS as well.
D3 Publisher went on to make Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, which was well-liked but not quite as well-reviewed as its fantasy counterpart. We’ll see if going back to the original formula does its job at recapturing fans who were put off by the hex-puzzle-based space puzzler.
