Kotaku: Modern Warfare 2 Map Pack Also Features Ridiculous Price

Kotaku: "Popping onto Xbox Live spokesman Larry Hryb’s podcast to promote Modern Warfare 2’s upcoming "Stimulus Package" map pack (which is launching first on Microsoft’s console), Infinity Ward’s Robert bowling revealed that the five maps – two of which are old maps being re-released for this game – will cost 1200 Microsoft Points."

Robert Bowling:’Majority’ of it’s 25 million unique players on the Xbox 360

This Sunday Xbox Live’s Major Nelson released his weekly podcast. One of his guests this week was Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling. In the interview Bowling addressed Modern Warfare 2’s recent achievement of 25 million unique users claiming that the "the majority of these users are from Xbox Live". This could give some insight as to why the Xbox 360 players might get access to the upcoming downloadable content ahead of gamers on other platforms.

Fired ‘Call of Duty’ developers sign with CAA

Hollywood’s biggest talent agency is being called to duty.

Signaling their intention to set up a new deal soon, Vince Zampella and Jason West, the recently fired heads of the studio that produced the blockbuster video games Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, have agreed to be represented by the Creative Artists Agency.

West and Zampella, the former president and chief executive, respectively, of Encino-based Infinity Ward, were fired on March 1 due to an undisclosed dispute with their bosses at Activision Blizzard, Inc

Rumor: Why Call of Duty Developers Are Sticking Around

With studio heads at Infinity Ward, the developer of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and its sequel, no longer employed, you’d think all those remaining at the company would be leaving in mass exodus. They’re not, apparently, and here’s why.

Sources tell Kotaku that Modern Warfare publisher Activision is delaying paying Infinity Ward employees their royalties. Every employee who worked on Modern Warfare 2 is apparently in for royalties. Traditionally, Infinity Ward has paid staff regular or even "low" salaries, sources tell Kotaku, but offer ridiculous royalties to compensate.

DICE takes a few potshots at ModernWarfare 2

When two developers go head to head for the same core audience, it’s not uncommon for their to be some rivalry between the two groups. DICE and Infinity Ward are in this situation. Firing the first shots over the bow, DICE references Modern Warfare 2 in Bad Company 2’s single player campaign. The video below is a couple of references that appear to be directed squarely at Infinity Ward. Apparently, DICE believes that both heart monitors on your guns and snow mobiles are for sissies….ZING!(more)
