Castlevania: Harmony of Despair Review

Posted by admin On August - 4 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Castlevania: Harmony of Despair baffles me. Is it a cheap, hacked-together work of desperation, or is it a bold and innovative masterstroke of creativity?

Ultimately, I think it’s a little of both. These concepts aren’t mutually exclusive, after all. Besides, as they say, necessity is the mother of invention. In this case, I’m pretty sure “necessity” took the form of Konami giving producer Koji Igarashi the mandate to create a downloadable, high-definition Castlevania game with a budget equivalent to the loose change we fished from between the cushions of our office couch last week. And what Igarashi came up with — Harmony of Despair — can only be described as “weird.”

Konami Officially Announces Pro Evolution Soccer 2011

Posted by admin On May - 5 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

After dominating the field for years, Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer has arguably fallen behind the competition. The dev team appears to be aware of this, promising fundamental changes for the upcoming Pro Evolution Socer 2011.

“It was time for PES to transform, and PES 2011 represents the most ambitious redesign in the series’ history,? said team leader Jon Murphy. “We’ve continued to work closely with the fans to pinpoint what it is about football that PES didn’t do.”

He continued, “Total freedom was the priority and all-new animation a must. PES 2011 does both – indeed, they are directly linked to each other – and while the new game is recognisably PES at its heart, it is also the most radically improved version ever.”

Ninety-Nine Nights II is actually as fun as it looks

Posted by admin On April - 11 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

GamesRadar: There was a time, about 10 years ago, when Dynasty Warriors was new and exciting. Fast-forward to the present, however, and the game has changed so little over its dozens of iterations that the very sight of it – or even any game that looks like it – is enough to send cynical gamers’ eyes rolling back in their sockets. That, along with knowledge of its underwhelming 2006 predecessor, is why we were tempted to ignore the shit out of Ninety-Nine Nights II (aka N3II) when publisher Konami rolled it out during last night’s press event.

Uncharted 2 On Xbox360 Would’ve Re-defined The Action Genre

Posted by admin On April - 8 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Castlevania is set to debut this year and the game is looking incredible. Dave Cox is a great producer for Konami but it appears that there’s a sign of doubt within the Lord Of Shadow release this year, not being able to fully compete with Uncharted 2’s greatness may pose a threat to the expected success of Castlevania.

Will Castlevania get the franchise back up to speed or is the hype to much for Konami to handle?

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Music Video Is As Bizarre As Kojima

Posted by admin On March - 24 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Konami have released a bizarre music video, featuring Paz (who is voiced by singer and voice-actress Nana Mikuki) on a beach, singing her theme song "Deterrence of Love" in various states of undress while soldiers fight around her.

It’s…interesting, to say the least.

The song is also performed by Mizuki.
