Confirmed: No install for God of War III despite dual-layer Blu-ray

Posted by admin On February - 23 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

PSUni: God of War III won’t be utilising a PlayStation hard-drive install, despite using the complexity of a dual-layer Blu-ray disc. The last PS3 game to make use of the greater capacity 50GB Blu-ray was Kojima Productions’ Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, which not only required significant HDD space, but also made a new lengthy install after every one of the game’s five acts. There will be no such suffering with Sony Santa Monica’s God of War III.

Splinter Cell Conviction – Go Big or Go Home!

DualShockers writes:

"Ubisoft is preparing to launch Splinter Cell Conviction on the Xbox 360 this spring. As much as I love the series, I just can’t fathom them topping the instant classic that was Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Some would argue that there isn’t a competition between the two, but with so many similarities between the the two storied franchises I beg to differ. My argument is simple: Splinter Cell Conviction either you have to go big or go home…"

Hideo Kojima A "Huge Fan" Of Twilight, Will Judge Your Fan Art

Posted by admin On November - 3 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

Michael McWhertor, of Kotaku.com, writes:

"Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima is apparently a fan of Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight series, opting in to judge a fan art contest themed around the second entry in the romantic vampire action series, New Moon.

That’s according to a release from Japanese artist network pixiv–pretty much the overseas equivalent of deviantArt–which has tapped Kojima, Evangelion character designer and manga creator Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, and Twilight manga artist Ryuji Gotsubo to judge a Twilight: New Moon fan art contest.

Kojima, who I’d wager aligns himself with Team Jacob, is reportedly a "huge fan" of Twilight, according to the Anime News Network’s translation of the release. He’ll contribute his expert opinion as well as a signed copy of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, apparently, to the list of grand prizes."

9 Games that need to be remade for the PlayStation 3

Posted by admin On October - 25 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

GB writes: "Folks we are in the seventh generation of gaming and are being amazed by the raw power of the Playstation 3. There have been many people (including us) who are amazed at the technology behind the Cell processor and the massive storage space of the blu ray disc. All of us who have bought the Playstation 3 must have bought many blockbuster games along with it. Games like Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Killzone 2, Little Big Planet and the more recent Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. But there are some games which we have played in the last generation ( and the previous ones too) and we are forced to wonder if we will ever get them to play with next generation graphics and gameplay. We decide to list those games which should be played on the PlayStation 3."

Will Uncharted 2: Among Thieves be better than Metal Gear Solid 4?

Posted by admin On September - 19 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

GB writes: " We are just about three weeks away from what is possibly PS3’s biggest game since Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. MGS4 was a classic. After following the series for almost a decade, I seriously believed that the fourth game in the series was one of the best games of 2008 if not one of the best games ever made. MGS4 reached our hearts and some of the ending scenes made fans cry. I still remember the microwave scene in MGS4 where Snake was literally fighting for his life."

Game of the year Candidates so Far……..All PS3?

Posted by admin On September - 12 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

GB writes: "Well we are almost at the end now. With a couple of months still left to go before we welcome 2010, we thought it might be a good choice to write something on the Game of the Year Candidates so far. There have been some really great games for all systems this year. But the fact remains the same. Sony have kept on releasing some great games consistently this year. So people who own the black beauty have had a lot of fun on their systems this year, more so as compared to last year. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was named Game of the Year 2008 by many major publications and rightly so. The important thing to be stated here is that a PS3 game was a winner after almost 2 years since the systems launch and it looks like 2009 will continue this trend."

Why MGS4 Should Get a Trophy Patch

Posted by admin On September - 10 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

Associated Content: "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots came out for the Playstation 3 in June 12, 2008. The exclusive game was a critical and financial success. However, there was one minor problem: the lack of trophy support. Sony didn’t add the trophy feature to the Playstation 3 until a month after Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots launched. Furthermore, it didn’t become a requirement for publishers and developers until the start of 2009."
