VGC: Metroid Other M Hands-On Preview

Posted by admin On March - 13 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

VGChartz writes: "The game looks really impressive in the cutscenes and pretty slick in-game as well. I didn’t know what to expect walking in, but I came out wanting to play more. I’d like to see some games to start focusing more on story (without sacrificing gameplay, of course) and Metroid: Other M is doing just that. The game is a thrill to play and I cannot wait to pick up my copy on June 27th."

Will Super Mario 2 and Metroid entice hardcore gamers back to the Wii?

Posted by admin On February - 25 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Greg Howsen of guardian.co.uk writes: Like most gamers over 30 I’ve got a nostalgic bond with Mario and Metroid. Actually, given the high quality of the 2002’s Metroid Prime and 2007’s Super Mario Galaxy, admiration for the pair is not just limited to the old timers. But with most traditional gamers better catered for on the 360 and PS3 will the release of new Mario and Metroid titles tempt them back to the Wii?

Nintendo Holding Media Event February 24

The Legend of Zelda Wii

We tend to shy away from announcements of announcements, but sometimes one catches our interest too much to ignore. IGN reports that Nintendo is holding a media summit on February 24 in San Francisco. The invite promises “a full day of presentations, demos and hands-on gameplay,” but doesn’t name specific games to be showcased. The latest issue of the Official Nintendo Magazine teased “something very special” for the March issue, leaving many to conclude whatever special surprises Nintendo has in store will be at this event.

2010 is shaping up to be a loaded year for Nintendo, with three of its top franchises set for new installments. Super Mario Galaxy 2, Legend of Zelda Wii, and Metroid Other M are all either definitely or possibly coming out this year. Nintendo also has yet to share details of its Wii Vitality Sensor, which it has been pursuing despite some skepticism from fans. The event could cover any combination of those games, or even something completely new. We’ll just have to see what comes of it later this month.

CwG: Nintendo Sources Revealed: Metroid Prime Trilogy’s Cancellation Confirmed…again?

Posted by admin On February - 2 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Coffee with Games says during an article, "The first line of the article reads, "Nintendo continues to drag its feet on an official response about Metroid Prime Trilogy’s retail status, though online retailer Amazon tells Joystiq that the game has been discontinued."

It baffled me, because I already had given a quote from the official response I received from Nintendo in the original article. Why is Nintendo dragging its feet?

Then a little further down in the article, I read a line that stated, "Nintendo refuses to acknowledge it ever made the statement that the game was ‘no longer being shipped.’".

This line didn’t baffle me, as much as it shocked me. If Nintendo wasn’t acknowledging they made the statement, did that make my article false and show me as a liar?"
