Gran Turismo 5 Demo Hits December 17

Full Quote from GTPlanet.net ~

"Announced just hours ago on the PlayStation EU Blog, GT Academy 2010 will be held in a brand new demo of Gran Turismo 5 hitting the PlayStation Store on December 17, 2009. The demo will feature a stock and tuned version of the Nissan 370Z, and, while Sony has decided not to release the track just yet, I have been aware of the competition for some time now and GTPlanet reveal the demo will include either Spa Francorchamps or the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. However, Sony described the track as a "specially created section of a new Gran Turismo 5 circuit", which suggests to me it’s the Indianapolis GP Circuit, as it is quite literally a "section" of a larger circuit. (Let’s not forget it was also the big track prominently shown in Gran Turismo 5’s E3 2009 trailer.)"

"Hello everyone, its Penrose Tackie here Gran Turismo, European Brand Manager.

Following the groundbreaking success of the GT Academy last year and as part of our activities around the forthcoming launch of Gran Turismo 5, I am delighted to officially unveil GT Academy 2010.

On 17th December exclusively via the PlayStation store, we will be launching the GT Academy 2010 Time Trial. The time trial will be the only way into this year’s Academy, and if you’ve got what it takes it could be the start of a life-changing journey.

Last year the GT Academy programme unearthed a real driving talent in the form of Lucas Ordenez from Spain, who after winning the GT Academy went on to drive for the Nissan PlayStation race team and take an astonishing second place in the GT4 Championship – all in his first season!"

Need For Speed: Shift – Nissan Skyline 2000 GTR Screens

Posted by admin On August - 13 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

It’s nice to see that the current generation systems are being used to more of their potential than the first generation or even second generation of titles that have released so far. Developers are finding new tricks to pull off graphic genius and still being able to immerse gamers into games that would not be possible on other past systems.

Not even considering the power of past consoles, the computing power of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 show that the current generation of systems still have a lot of time for developers to be able to push them to their limits in terms of realistic physics.

Need For Speed: Shift is giving gamers a taste of what’s still to come in the form of screens for the Nissan Skyline 2000 GTR.

Check out the screens.

This is not a game

Sam Philip of Topgear writes:

"It’s a debate most of us have had down at the pub: If you’re quick on the PlayStation, will you be quick in real life? Darren Cox, Nissan’s online guru, and Kazunori Yamauchi, creator of the Gran Turismo series, think so. In fact, they decided to prove that a virtual racing champion can be turned into a real-life racing champion. And so begins the most expansive, most extreme virtual/reality racing experiment in history. A quest to put a top gamer into a top-level international GT race. A real one."
