IncGamers: Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening Hands-On

Posted by admin On March - 9 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

IncGamers’ Tim McDonald sits down with Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening and reports back on what’s new and how it fares.

From the preview: "From what I’ve seen, Vigil Keep is the single biggest difference between Awakening and vanilla Dragon Age, and it really is a huge one. Once you fend off the Darkspawn in the initial attack you’re granted control of it and, indeed, the title of Arl, essentially making you the ruler of Amaranthine. In a fashion inspired by the class keeps from Baldur’s Gate II, all the problems of both Vigil Keep and the region on the whole become yours."

Toki Tori Now Available on Steam

Posted by admin On January - 29 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

That adorable little yellow bird, Toki Tori, has traveled a long way across the gaming universe. From his origins on the Game Boy Color to mobile phones to Wii Ware all the way to the iPhone, he’s seen more platforms than you can shake a stick at. I once tried to shake a stick at them all, too. It’s impossible. Can’t do it without your wrist eventually falling off, or getting mauled by a bear. But I digress. Now, you can own Toki Tori on your mammoth beast of a gaming rig by downloading the game through Steam. This edition of the game has all the features of the enhanced Wii Ware version, along with new levels, HD graphics, 5.1 soundtrack, and PC-optimized controls as well. Toki Tori is now available for the regular price of $4.99 (but on sale for 25% off!), a bargain considering I’m pretty sure I paid at least $20 for the Game Boy Color version back in the day. Wow. I feel old.

Top 5 Ways to Get Your Girlfriend into Gaming

Posted by admin On January - 28 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

From the PlanetXbox360.com feature list:

"Playing video games can represent a significant investment of time, especially depending on what you play. Some games are easier to pick up, play a little and step away from, particularly anything that’s focused on an intense, fast-paced multiplayer experience. But if you’re like me and love games like Fallout 3, Mass Effect or Dragon Age Origins where exploration and deviation from the main plotline is encouraged it can be difficult to get full satisfaction from a scant few minutes of gaming. Having a girlfriend, boyfriend or spouse who ‘just doesn’t get it’ can be a hassle, since they might rather spend leisure time watching television, building birdhouses or something. I stand as living proof that not only can gamers everywhere continue to play long after settling down into a loving, happy relationship, but that it is indeed possible to make gaming a shared pass-time between you and your girlfriend. I’ll tell you the top 5 ways to get her into gaming (without using a Wii)."

Rumor: Mass Effect 2 DLC details leaked

Posted by admin On January - 15 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Norwegian newspaper DagBladet is reporting DLC will likely be available day one or soon thereafter for Mass Effect 2. DagBladet says the usual items like armor and weapons will be available, but also other things, such as an unlockable planet and even a new ally by the name of Zaeed Messani, the grizzled bounty hunter pictured above. The piece also mentions an in-game store for unlocking DLC called "Cerberus Network," which sounds a lot like Dragon Age: Origins’ DLC platform.
