IGN: UMD Format "Alive And Well"

Posted by admin On March - 14 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Sony’s PlayStation Portable disc-based titles aren’t going away anytime soon. During a session at the Game Developers Conference this past week, the company said it has no plans in abandoning the UMD format.

The session was meant to inform independent developers about the marketplace advantages that exist on the PlayStation platform. When discussing the PSP, the company said its UMD format is "alive and well" and that all retail games will continue to be available on both a UMD disc and digitally on the PlayStation Network store.

Sony also provided its latest life-to-date sales for the PSP platform. Since its North American release in 2005, sales have reached 17 million total units. Total worldwide sales have now topped 60 million total units.

18 WHEELS OF DANGER ON PSP

Posted by admin On March - 11 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Slitherine is proud to announce the release of HISTORY Ice Road Truckers on PSP Minis. The game launches today as downloadable game on the PSN store.  Players who take command of these huge 18-wheelers will drive their way across ice roads in one of five big rigs.

The Ice Road Truckers is a racing game that captures the spirit and danger of the series by putting players in the driver’s seat of an eighteen wheeler. Players face a number of challenges as they haul equipment and supplies to isolated outposts north of the Arctic Circle.

In all, there are fifteen ice roads to master.  Virtual truckers will need to steer clear of other trucks and thin ice hazards throughout the game.  Stay on the road, avoid obstacles, and reach the destination before time runs out. Quicker times earn you more money, but if you’re late you won’t advance !!

Play.tm: God Of War III Review

Posted by admin On March - 9 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

This is the fifth God of War title, the third in the main cannon, and it is clear Sony Santa Monica want to end this story arc with a bang, delivering one hell of an epic action game experience while at the same time honing gameplay that will be hugely familiar to fans of past titles. Of course, this is a PS3 exclusive, a system seller, and as such everything has been taken a lot further from the PS2 and the PSP versions that we enjoyed hugely before. Now, however, you get the feeling that the designers have held nothing back for this final hooray, Kratos’ last stab at those pesky gods.

God of War creator and Eat Sleep Play founder David Jaffe recently spoke on Kotaku’s radio podcast about his canceled PSP game Heartland. Bush and his policies.

Gamersmint Review: Dante’s Inferno(PSP)

Posted by admin On February - 25 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Gamersmint Writes: "Bayonetta, Darksiders, the hotly-anticipated God of War III… Whoever said the battle between Heaven and Hell wouldn’t sell clearly didn’t enroll in the right community college of video game design, or has never met Todd McFarlane. It’s weird seeing a handful of developers try their hand in weaving stories, entangled with angels, demons and Gods from head to toe. Except that Bayonetta makes little freaking sense no matter how many times you spin that one, but that’s besides the point. Dante’s Inferno, on the other hand, clearly takes a single road approach and decides "The hell with it!" – quite literally."
