Rockstar Fixing "Invisibility" Red Dead Redemption Bug

Red Dead Redemption

Tons of gamers are enjoying Red Dead Redemption following its release earlier this week, but it looks like more than a few are having their experience hampered by some screwy glitches. Gamers are reporting issues, particularly in multiplayer games, where a player’s gun, horse, or even entire character disappears from the screen. Now Rockstar says (via Kotaku) they’re aware of the issues and are working to resolve them.

“[We're] really happy with how well Red Dead Redemption has been received by the community on both platforms so far. We’re aware of the issues some people are experiencing on multiplayer and we’re working hard to fix them,” a Rockstar rep said. “If you’re having issues please email RDRSupportteam@rockstargames.com. We are also actively on the forums helping people with any questions they may have about the game. Thank you all for your support and we look forward to getting a fix out as soon as we can.”

There are already various YouTube videos documenting these glitches, which would probably be a lot funnier if they weren’t so annoying for players who just bought their brand-new $60 game. In addition to disappearing horses and characters, some players have also reported being attacked by invisible cougars.

MMOHut, "Star Trek Online has had a troubling launch. Complaints of an unfinished product rushed to release abounded. GamingUnion.net: "Nowadays, developer Sting is most known for their complicated, but extremely immersive RPGs such as Riviera: The Promised Land, Yggdra Union, and Knights in the Nightmare. But long-time fans know that the developer has also worked on old-fashioned RPGs, such as their Evolution series of games. Hexyz Force, their latest PSP title, follows this pattern, replacing complex and intricate game mechanics with something that RPG fans are more used to, but still keeping the charm and secrets that Sting games are known for. Will new fans of the developer find Hexyz Force an enjoyable deviation from the developer’s latest games, or should the company stick with what they’ve become known for?"

StarCraft II Designer Browder: ‘We’re Not Trying To Be Innovative’

Posted by admin On April - 24 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

We’re not trying to be innovative," says StarCraft II design director Dustin Browder when confronted with criticism that the anticipated real-time strategy title’s multiplayer gameplay has not sufficiently evolved since its predecessor’s 1998 release.

"We’re not trying to change for change’s sake," Browder told Gamasutra as part of a larger forthcoming interview. "We’re just trying to make quality, and we definitely felt there were some things in the previous game that were high quality, that we weren’t super confident we could do much better."

For example, he added, "I don’t have a lot of enthusiasm to make Siege Tank 2.0. Siege Tank is good."
