PlayStation 3 Exclusives Outscore 360 on Average

Posted by admin On May - 25 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

PS3 360 Exclusives Chart

Exclusives on the PlayStation 3 have a higher average Metacritic score than those on the Xbox 360, according to an analysis on IndustryGamers. The comparison found that 360 exclusives have an average score of 66.6%, while the PS3 exclusives average at 75.6%. The 360 does have a much larger number of exclusives, however, at 218 to the PS3’s 60.

The year-by-year breakdown shows a steady decrease of 360 exclusives, which makes sense. Developers were reluctant to put their games only on the PlayStation 3 when it first launched, due to a smaller install base. The two are slowly reaching parity, and are now achieving roughly the same number of exclusives above a 70% score. Xbox 360 still has far more exclusives in a given year below a 70%, but that’s not exactly something to brag about.

One could say this has something to do with Sony’s studio culture and how it cultivates exclusive titles, but the explanation might be more simple. The findings could be attributed to the law of large numbers — as the number of tests increases, the probability of a consistent average increases too. The PlayStation 3’s lack of exclusive games in the study means that outliers have a greater impact on the average. The 360 had a head start at launch, and a larger install base that gave it more exclusives per year for quite a while.

Myths and Facts about Satellite Direct

Posted by Polisan On April - 23 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

Just few months back, I discovered an ad for Satellite Direct. Even though the idea of it appeared awesome in my opinion, first of all, what went through my mind was Satellite Direct scam. Like whatever you buy on the internet, I was a lttle bit skeptical to express the last. Another thought that went through my thoughts was is Satellite Direct legal? Both of these issues have been concerns of mine, therefore I needed to do my investigation.

I was so enticed to buy the product then and there. I was residing in Europe for 90 days on a work assignment, and my favorite football team was playing quite a big game later that day. The thought of downloading software that will let me see this game without delay was too good to be true. I was even now suspicious of the Satellite Direct scam.

So, I spent the following couple of hours reading on the item. I wanted to make sure that the quality was excellent, that it had as many stations as advertised, and most importantly, I wanted to make certain that Satellite Direct was not unlawful.

I became happy to find out that Satellite Direct is certainly lawful and legitimate, because of something referred to as the Free to Air protocol, which allows for mass watching of local and nationwide TV stations from across the world.

I also read a lot of different reviews from users who highly regarded the digital HD quality of the channels they watched. On top of that, I noticed a high profile technology journal that gave Satellite Direct good score. Once I saw that the trustworthy book was talking this software all the way up, I made a decision that it was absolutely well worth taking my odds on. Being a Mac user, I was pretty pleased to note that it’d work on both PCs and Macs.

I chose to get the software after that. For $49 it was a lot less than one month’s worth of cable. Since I’d by no means need to pay for cable monthly any more following that, I realized it absolutely was well worth it.

In any case, in about 5 min’s from making my transaction I was all set. All I needed to follow was download the software and do the installation. It wouldn’t happen to be simpler. The best part about it could be that the product does work as promoted. The display was crisp, the audio was great, it didn’t freeze up or get chopped up, and you will find a lot of TV channels. Additionally, I got to witness the Falcons win their football match on that day.

Right now, there are 3,500 TV channels from around the globe. No matter what country’s TV channels you’re looking to watch, there is a good chance they have got the whole bunch. Starting from movie channels to sports channels to a myriad of movie stations, there is almost everything you might want. It’s all in DVD quality too, since it’s digital.

In all honesty, I am just stunned that a lot of individuals don’t know about this. It seems like it will only be dependent on time well before all people have software like Satellite Direct rather than a traditional cable plan.

Here are some of the best reasons for Satellite Direct.

Soon after I paid off $49.95 for the software, I by no means needed to pay any money ever again. No hidden fees, no subscription costs.

I have a lot more stations rather than what I do on my cable TV package.

I terminated my house cable plan. I currently hook up Satellite Direct to my 42-inch plasma, and I am allowed to see all of my TV on my actual TV now. The level of quality is equally good as it would be on your regular HDTV. I would not advise terminating your cable package right up until you’ve got at the least a couple weeks to play around with Satellite Direct, however I would not be surprised in the event you ended up terminating yours as well.

My ultimate judgment: there’s no Satellite Direct scam, this product is a real deal. Lots of channels, top quality picture and audio, above all it’s legitimate. I hope you appreciate yours as much as I’ve liked mine.

At Direct Satellite TV on PC.net, you will find out about cable tv for pc, channels on pc , and pc satellite tv software reviews.

The Famitsu Controversy

Posted by admin On April - 21 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

While being used as a primary news source for Japanese Games, Famitsu’s editorial content, and expecially their review scores, have been target of costant mudslinging from a part of the gaming press, that accuses the Japanese weekly magazine of being biased and of giving scores according to advertisement deals.

With the 40/40 score given to Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, this argument has reared his ugly head again.

But is this "holier than thou" attitude justified? The gaming press as a whole lives on advertisement deals, favors, giveaways, exclusive covers and previews, including the publications that criticize Famitsu.

Does a game’s platform influence its EDGE score?

Posted by admin On March - 14 - 2010 ADD COMMENTS

TrendAnalyst blog writes: Every time EDGE magazine reviews a Playstation 3 exclusive, they are accused of bias by PS3 supporters, who are then mocked as fanboys who aren’t satisfied with anything other than perfect scores for their beloved exclusives. EDGE are known to be harsh graders, and some respect them for using the full 1-10 scale instead of using 7-10 scale like the mainstream gaming press. The counter argument is that EDGE reviews every game harshly and it’s pointed out that for every PS3 exclusive that gets low scores like Heavy Rain, there is an equivalent 360 exclusive.

To investigate whether EDGE is just harsh overall, or if it truly judges and scores games based on their platform, blogger TrendAnalyst made a comparison chart of the top 30 games from each platform, as well as the top 30 multiplatform games.
