StarcraftWire.net has a review of the latest TOKYOPOP manga based on the award-winning RTS Game Starcraft. The first story in this manga, titled Homecoming, serves as a backstory on the main character marshal-turned-rebel Jim Raynor.

The story ties-in straight into the first mission in Mar Sara at the beginning of Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty’s single player. The story written by no other than Blizzard Entertainment’s Senior VP of Creative Design Chris Metzen left a cliffhanger that might be exploited and come back to bite fans in the game. Mystery ensues. Did Jim Raynor’s son truly die?

Why Xbox LIVE is Worth the Money – And PSN Is Not

Posted by admin On September - 29 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

From the PlanetXbox360.com feature editorial:

"I’m going to come clean about it, I love Xbox Live. Yes, I pay every single year for the privilege to enjoy the multiplayer components of my games. But there is substantially more to it than just being able to play games with other people. Live offers several features that are available to silver members, however gold sets itself apart far and wide in comparison. The simple ability for multiplayer gives way to features that work so seamlessly, more often than not, I forget that I have paid for the service. Add to that the ability to watch movies, among other content as well as have access to content early just for being a gold member and the cost for a year breaks down to an almost negligible monthly cost. But, I don’t want to negotiate numbers; I want to remind everyone why gold is a service that is actually worth spending your hard earned money on since it ties the entire Xbox experience together in a way that I’m yet to see other services do so as fluidly. So sit back as I explain to you why Xbox Live holds true to the old saying about you getting what you pay for!"

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Kojima’s last Playstation exclusive?

Posted by admin On September - 25 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

Gamesthirst writes: Kojima and his team are working extremely hard to make the PSP title Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker a first class game. We’d expect nothing less from the San himself, but with Metal Gear Solid: Rising being announced as a multiplatform title, and Kojima building strong ties with Microsoft, many have a nagging feeling that Peace Walker might be Sony’s last exclusive title from the legend.

Review: Colin McRae DiRT2 | GamesAreEvil.com

Posted by admin On September - 17 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

GrE writes, "I first played the original DiRT game in September 2007, a month that rally fans will instantly recognize as the time that Colin McRae, one of the real greats of the rallying world, unfortunately died in a helicopter accident. It felt rather sad playing the game, knowing that this true great whose name and image was so strongly connected to the title, was no longer with us. At the time I did slightly selfishly ponder whether that meant no more Colin McRae racing games, a selfish thought really considering the severity of the situation, but I have no doubt others asked the same question. Of course, I figured the series would continue, just without his name and memory connected to it. So I was pleased to see that DiRT2 retains its ties to this truly distinct rally driver. Even better, it’s a real tribute to him, thanks in part to it being an excellent racing game…."

Black Mesa mod ties Portal to the original Half-Life.

Crowbar Error 42 writes "Its been very heavily hinted at that Portal is set within the Half-Life universe but like many things added to the Half-Life universe in the sequel and in the following episodes there is no mention of things like Aperture Science in the original game.

While there is nothing Valve can do about it as hopefully they are hard at work on Half-Life: Episode 3, it looks like the creators of the Half-Life 2 mod, Black Mesa are hiding small references to Portal in their mod."
