PC World: "The iPad is coming soon. The rumor that pre-orders would begin this past Thursday failed to materialize, and there are still a number of question marks–most notably "when will the FCC approve the iPad for sale in the United States?" But, one way or another, the iPad will arrive sooner or later.

If you believe Apple’s hype about the "magic" of the device, soon millions of Americans will rely on the Apple iPad for all manner of media consumption–movies, books, TV shows, newspapers, etc. That means millions of Americans will spend even more time with their faces basked in the pale glow of a backlit screen, possibly doing damage to their vision."

This year is drawing to a close, and we’re all taking a look back at the year that was. 2009 welcomed gaming into more mainstream focus than ever with placement on several TV shows, particularly the late night and cartoon set. It’s only a matter of time before we really take hold and show off teaser trailers for Modern Warfare 3 on The View.

When you’re advertising a new product on live TV, it sure must feel terrible when that product doesn’t work. Windows 7 was recently being promoted on the Japanese morning TV show "Tokudane", only for the operating system’s touch-screen capability to stop working mid-way through the presentation.

The soon to be released PSP Go will be prepared with many downloadable games never mind all the movies and TV shows. 225 games will be avaiable to download from the day its released including big names like Madden 10, Star Wars Battlefront 2, God of War: Chains of Olympus and many more. Shortly after launch Grand Turismo will be available for download on the PSP Go.

You share downloaded movies and TV shows between the Zune and the Xbox, but more important, the new Zune HD could be a game machine. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait for Microsoft and its partners to provide some actual games and other applications before we can judge the potential of the excellent hardware."

Microsoft Corp. announced today that sales of Xbox 360 consoles have passed the 30 million mark globally, with its Xbox LIVE community swelling to more than 20 million active members. After the biggest year in its history in 2008, Xbox 360 achieved the highest percentage growth in hardware sales of any console so far in 2009, up 28 percent over the previous year.

Over the course of this console generation, U.S. consumers alone have spent $14.5 billion across all categories on Xbox 360 at retail. This number reflects strong interest in a comprehensive entertainment offering that includes the ability to connect with others socially and to digitally download entertainment, be it games, TV shows or movies. To date, consumers have downloaded nearly 1 billion pieces of gaming and entertainment content from Xbox LIVE Marketplace, including a broad array of premium high- and standard-definition movies and TV shows from top studios and networks around the world.

The companies involved in Charlie Brooker’s TV shows, Screenwipe and Newswipe, have confirmed to IncGamers that Gameswipe – a similar show, based around videogames – is in production.

People are always talking about which films or TV shows gave them bad dreams or even which book but rarely do we ever hear people talk in public about the places that video games have taken them that robbed them of sleep and made them see monsters under the bed.

Not sure why because game developers have created some down right nasty worlds in their short time. And these things are not just there and you look at them from a safe distance. In the name of immersion game developers try to get you to actually force yourself into these worlds and interact with them. That is some scary crap!

The author says Raccoon city was the place of nightmares when he was a kid and nothing has beat it since. Maybe it was just an age thing, can you get too old for scary games?
