Split-Screen: "There have been numerous visual comparisons between Bungie’s upcoming Halo: Reach and Guerrilla Games‘ Killzone 2. Now it’s time to let the numbers do the talking and tell you for real which game looks better."
Critical Gamer writes: I’ve always liked reading what game journos have to write. I’ve seen videogame journalism change over the years however, and not for the better. I still enjoy reading it, and for many reasons; to find out the latest news, to garner information about new and upcoming games, to read exclusive interviews – and now and again, to enter competitions or nab a free beta code of some kind.
You may have noticed that nowhere in my list of reasons for reading up on games, was mention of the writing itself. I don’t want to sound old before my time (the age of thirty is stalking me, gnashing its teeth) but there’s no two ways about it: the writing really was much better when I was young.
Bright Hub writes: "One of the most disappointing things during my time as a store manager for the country’s largest video game retailer was constantly seeing customers receive depressingly small amounts of credit for the games they traded in. I understand that the company has a right to make money, but we as consumers don’t have to automatically accept whatever price the clerk behind the counter quotes us. There are ways to increase the amount you get for your games.
Now, I’m not talking about anything illegal or unscrupulous. I’m merely saying that there are perfectly acceptable ways to manipulate the system to ensure you get the highest possible value for your trade
ins. I used these methods to ensure that I always had enough credit to pick up those hot upcoming games, and in the interest of improving the lives of gamers everywhere, I’m passing on a few of my favorites."

Wayforward has a new composer on board. Contra 4 and Shantae composer Jake "virt" Kaufman has announced that he will be moving to California to join the developer’s in-house staff, which likely means he’ll be busy working on the upcoming Shantae games, much to the delight of fans. Aside from building a name for himself in the game remixing and chip tune communities, Kaufman has been working as a game audio composer for years, and this marks a huge step for him.
