Brett Walton: "Final Fantasy XIII pre-orders hit 475,000 units this week, with over 70% of those for the PS3 version. For week one sales, I don’t expect the split to be quite as strongly in favour of the PS3 version because whereas a lot of loyal Final Fantasy fans (the kind who would pre-order) will be PS3 owners, the more casual buyers will be more evenly split between consoles, as well as the Xbox360 bundle that is being offered and heavier advertising for the 360 version. For week one sales, I’d estimate around 400,000 on PS3 and 250,000 on Xbox 360."

The PlayStation3 exclusive ´Heavy Rain´ is likely to turn the tide for the console, which has been trailing its competitors up until now. The installed hardware base is now within close range of the Xbox360 and – if buyers perceive a better line-up of games – could be set to overtake it this year…

VGArabia: X10 gave us a good look for what to expect of the Xbox360 this year. With games such as Halo: reach, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Fable 3, you can see that the Xbox360 lineup is far more stronger in 2010 compared to last year. And if Microsoft’s Aaron Greenburg recent statement that X10 is "just a glimpse" of this year’s lineup is true, I think it will make things even harder for Sony’s PS3 to catch up with the Xbox360.

VGArabia: 2010 will be a critical year for both of Sony and Microsoft. In fact, it might be the year that determines the winner of the HD war. Exclusive games, cutting prices and releasing new peripherals are some of the strategies those companies will be using to attract consumers.

VGArabia: With NPD sales numbers for 2009 has been completely revealed, Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg has posted a response to the overall hardware sales numbers for 2009. While he has praised the sales performance for all consoles, he wanted to remind gamers and industry experts that the Xbox360 has actually outsold the PS3 in 2009.

VGArabia: There is a couple of multiplatform games such as GTA 4 and the first Modern Warfare that if you combine each game sales separately on all platforms, you can have games that outperforms Halo 3 (10.70 million) numbers. But there is one fact people may not know about: There isn’t a single HD game on just one platform that has had managed to sell more copies than Halo 3, though that could change in the near future.

Bioshock was a huge hit when it debuted on the Xbox360 and part 2 is bigger and better but most of all it’s in a league of it’s own. The great gameplay of Bioshock has now moved into multi-player which really adds more to the game along side a brand new story that introduces the big sister amongst other surprises 2K games is working on.

There’s no other FPS on the market that’s like Bioshock 2 and once the games is released in a few months be prepared to blown away once again and the competition should really worry.
